CABIN 101

For me, the most irritating people of all are those who only have to see someone smoking to start waving their hands in front of their faces.

Or coughing from the length of an open deck.

In early 2009, when smoking was still permitted inside Black Watch, smokers would congregate in the Piper's Bar before the evening shows. It's a small bar and the air was quite thick - even for me! Call it bad planning or design, but the main entrance to the show lounge was at the end of the Piper's Bar. There were always some so determined to be first into the show to get the best seats that they'd choose to stand in the fog for half-an-hour complaining...

I confess that P wanted to throw me overboard recently. It was my daughter's Birthday whilst we were at sea and I was having trouble getting a signal on my mobile phone. I suddenly got a signal whilst on deck and so phoned to her to sing 'Happy Birthday'. It's something I always do no matter where I am in the world and they would be disappointed if I didn't.
P was accutely emabarrassed and disappeared.

CABIN 101

I don't like to see people pile up their plate in the buffet and then leave half of the food. They are candidates for Cabin 101.

I don't like to see people try and get into the restaurant inappropriately dressed when others have made the effort to follow the dress code.

I would put people who push and sneek around you in queues so that they can get before you - especially when waiting to board a tender.
