Apparently, the Botanic gardens are well worth a visit but we didn't have time to do that too.

Good review Jill - and glad you enjoyed the Jeep safari. We did it last January, but just as a 4-hour trip and the Lamdrovers were of an older model with sideways bench seats at the rear. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked to do it again when we are there in March - wonder if we will get this type of vehicle - here's hoping!
CRUISES BOOKED:
Spirit of Discovery - Dec 2020, Dec 2021
Spirit of Adventure - September 2020, March 2021, June 2021, October 2021

Kate, the seats at the back of the vehicles were sideways on and by all accounts, very uncomfortable.
One woman was in the back of one of them got thrown off her seat and injured when the vehicle got stuck in the mud.
Our ship escort, who was in the back with us said that he had bashed his head several times.

Just make sure that you don't find yourselves in the back seats!

Hi Jill. We did one of these safaris in Maderia the week before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. Someone in our group also banged their head going over rough terrain. We rotated with each other although another lady and myself sat in the back bench seats for most of the time as we were both short. (i'm only 4.11) We managed very well after we had sorted out a system of where to put our legs and it worked very well. Beware the local brew of Poncha mind you after a glass of that you didn't mind where you sat!! We had a lovely day for our trip and even managed to have the top open for a while. The views were spectacular and I was glad I wasn't driving.

The couple that got in the back of our vehicle were not happy and refused to sit there. They were tallish and would have been uncomfortable with their knees under their chin, which is why our escort swapped with them.
Glad you had a good day too and better weather than us by the sound of it.

Exactly what I thought too

Great to see pictures of the other side of the lovely island Jill, it isn't it amazing how they manage to grow all the fruit and veg on the edge of such steep slopes, helped of course by the rain  :) Those Jeeps did look the comfy type, glad it didn't upset Plunkys back :)
