Our current caravan holiday in the Lake District so far

Postby JollyJill » 24 Jun 2015 08:27

Hi Shirley. Thanks for posting pics of the lovely place where you are currently enjoying a holiday and the Lake District.

I have spent lots of time up there when my closest friend moved from Kent to Cumbria 20 years ago. I used to go up by train a couple of times a year and spend a few days with her.

She is happily now back in Kent by the pull of her grandchildren. ;) It's great to have her back but I miss The Lakes.

I hope the weather is being kind to you. :)

Chris and I are so pleased that the weather is good for your holiday, it does make such a huge difference. When our kids were small we started camping with a tent and then upgraded to a trailer tent which the kids loved. Even later we upgraded to a caravan but the kids did not like it as much as the trailer tent, although Chris and I preferred it. We had to sell our caravan in 1990 when I was transferred to Kent and our new house did not have anywhere to store the caravan. But I still look back to our caravanning days with great fondness. :D
