Interesting how all the pictures of ferries get posted in triplicate!

:-) What can I say? Ferries are the nearest we're getting to a cruise this summer!

(Actually, I made the post from the car using the free wi-fi from the ferry. The connection was poor and I thought my first attempts had failed. It seems that they hadn't. ;-) )

We thoroughly enjoyed the ferry crossing to Leverburgh at the southern end of Harris and the scenery on the drive north was truly awesome. It's incredible how different the landscape is here - Uist is a land of water, while the Harris landscape is lunar, and Lewis is greener and has actual trees!

We were early getting to the house so we admired the spectacular setting and views, and I took a couple of photos while we waited...

The house is out of this world! Some photos of the inside will follow. :-)

It's a lovely morning and we'll be off on part two of our adventures soon. :-)

An early view of the loch with our 'Laird's' little house in the distance...

...and the view down the loch to the faraway hills of Harris:

We're told that there's a family of otters below us but we haven't seen them yet. Spotting an otter is becoming our number one quest!
