Yes, a wonderful armchair travelogue which I thoroughly enjoyed! (And the rainbow in the last pic. was a fitting end) ! Safe journey home. :D

Thanks for the kind words, but we're not finished yet! ;-)

We arrived at Heads Nook Hall near Carlisle after a scenic drive on some of Scotland's excellent roads. The Hall is a guest house with four guest rooms and it's truly posh - a bit like Downton Abbey! We have the Yellow Room. :-)

This place makes for a brilliant halfway stop. We love it!


We've been for a short walk. (The Hall is under the red mark.) It's a very nice area!

I loved the basin in the bathroom. We had one exactly the same in our last home, an 18th century farmhouse.

Funnily enough, I admired it too. We'd had very modern minimal basins in the cottages and when I saw this one I thought I'd love one like that. I really liked the toilet and the high-level cistern (out of shot) as well... :D
