BRAEMAR UPDATES
Extract from Captain’s announcement on board Braemar - Thursday 12th March 2020, 10pm (UK time)
Good evening everyone.

After speaking with our office in the UK and following advice from the British Government, we are continuing our passage to the Bahamas.

As I have already mentioned, we have received confirmation that essential services and provisions including medical supplies and fuel are available to us when we reach the Bahamas.

Regretfully however there is also conflicting information and media speculation, received within the last hour.

As it stands, we are therefore continuing talks regarding permission to disembark. Please bear with me in this incredibly frustrating time, where rumour is plentiful and facts are in short supply. The time differences between us and the UK is making this more challenging. Rest assured, I will keep you updated.
Previous Cruises :
Black Watch (5), Braemar (9), Boudicca (1), Balmoral (1), Adonia (1), Saga Sapphire (1) Saga Ruby (1) Astoria (1)

I heard on the news yesterday that Braemar, which has confirmed coronavirus cases on board, is proceeding to Cuba where she will finally be allowed to dock. BritishAirways is sending planes to pick up the passengers. Apparently, despite being registered in the Bahamas, she was refused permission to dock there as well as everywhere else in the Caribbean, so well done to Cuba.

That is good news. How confusing and stressful for everyone on board these past days going from one place to another with no success for docking. Also for FO head office staff responsible for trying to get them all home. :(

Hope you are back home safely now. Braemar is currently showing out of range on my ship app last position off the coast around Miami (the other day it was showing further up the coast, nearer) but says heading back to Southampton due 30/03.

On the Fred app, they had removed Braemar :? and it only showed the other 3 FO ships at anchor in Rosyth. But currently Black Watch seems to be heading off somewhere.

Would be lovely if we have some other returnees at this time. Online interaction is going to be important now and moving forward.
