Well yes and no. My Kindle is an older version without a lit screen, whereas my wife has a Paperwhite Kindle which she can read in the dark. So it depends on the model you have.

As it happens I was reading my Kindle books on my i.pad which is backlit but I didn't work that out for a couple of nights. Still think it's a huge miss for people who don't have that though.

It looks spacious although it is a shame about the little niggles- the lack of reading lights would have annoyed me too.

As for the TV and P & O's lack of information re the journey- it is something that we don't like either.

Did you know in advance what times you were arriving and leaving each port?

Yes Jill we were given times with the booking and confirmation forms. However when we got on the ship some of these were completely different.

For instance, for Gran Canaria pre-cruise we had - Arrive 9.00am, Depart 3.30pm but on the ship it was Arrive 8.00am, Depart 5.30pm. :?

Well it seems that P & O are still cagey about how many hours you will be in port then, which makes it extremely difficult to organise your own excursions or meet up with friends. :(

Cabin looks lovely Marie. Great photos.

I didn't do a review of our cabin on The Brilliance. I kept meaning to but I will do one when we are on the QV.

Lovely review and photos, Marie, thank you. Always interested in seeing what cabins are like when photos are taken by 'real' people.

We were considering this ship for 2016 before booking Azura.

My neighbour, who was on the previous sailing, also made the same comments about her cabin. So, one for the future, I think.
Cruises booked:
June 2020 Celebrity Silhouette
- Bergen - Geiranger - Flam - Stavanger
Sept 2020 Celebrity Silhouette - Madeira - Tenerife - Las Palmas - Lisbon- Porto- Vigo

There is nothing like a nice new shiny cabin, just a shame the balcony didn't compliment the cabin. :D

I think you will find that the interior design of Britannia was sorted by one design house for the whole ship. In this way it has turned out to be disimilar to other P&O and other cruise ships generally. It is an holistic approach which in my opinion has turned out well aesthetically.
