Grand Princess Cat AC Mini Suite D716

These photos may well not reflect the current status of the cabin/mini suite as the ship has undergone a refit since they were taken. It was the biggest cabin we have ever had and very, very comfortable.
The main cabin was separated into two zones which you see from the photos. The bed being away from the balcony. There is a lobby area outside the bathroom where there is ample hanging and also a mirror fronted cupboard where the safe is housed.
To date it is also the only cabin we have had which had a bath in it. Sadly no photos of that area.

I really like the decor. It looks very retro and quite classy -IMO.

Grand Princess Cat AC Mini Suite D716 (from 2009 pre refit)

Postby grannyM » 07 Mar 2013 18:16

We had one of these in 2010 W. It was a really good cabin the only thing we didn't like was the balcony was smaller, and overlooked, compared to the balcony in the Balconly Cabin we had the year before on C deck. However the space in the Mini Suite more than made up for that. :D

Sadly I have no photos as they are in my old laptop which is broken. :(

If you want a mini-suite like this on any "Grand Class" ship (including the P&O ones) with a large sized balcony but do not want to be overlooked; then "E deck" i.e. the deck above the promenade, deck at the aft almost always is the best location. There is always a bank of mini-suites both sides of ship at this point and sometimes classed among the cheapest of that cabin type. If you study any deck plan with a magnifying glass it is possible to measure the balcony sizes etc. Deck plans always say "not to scale" and this tends to confuse people. The reality is that within each plan things are shown to comparative size. They might show cabins larger in the plan to the general white parts, crew quarters etc. but you can measure relatively. Lift shafts always line up vertically so if you have a photocopy you can calculate exactly what is above and below your prospective cabin. In this way you can avoid potential problems if you perceive them. Night Clubs, Gymnasium, leaky swimming pools, etc.
