2021 brochure

I believe that the new brochure for 2021 is due out on 7th October - with those who are pre-registered getting their calls the week before. will be interesting to see what they have on offer as it will be the first full year with both new ships in operation.

According to a leaflet that came out with today's Saga mailings the new brochure that is due to be released on 7th October is only for January - March 2021. So goodness knows when the rest of 2021 will be available!!

Spirit of Discovery grand cruise of South America is already being advertised in the newspapers by ROL - so it is out to the general public even before Brittania Club members get their brochure.
Added: and just seen that Spirit of Adventure cruises January to March 2021 are already being advertised on line with Iglu cruise. Not on Saga website yet, though.
So much for Brittania club members getting the brochure earlier than everyone else - let's hope they managed to get all the advance reg calls done in time.
Hey ho, things have to change, and Saga has to fill the new ships, so should not be a surprise to me.

Since online booking has become easier - and also since Saga allowed their cruises to be available through travel agents - the "perk" of Britannia club members getting their brochures ahead of others has gone by the board. In fact, I think quite a few Britannia Club "perks are being eroded. It used to be a separate check-in desk for silver (and above) members - no longer, although you at least do still get priority embarkation. Priority disembarkation at the end of the cruise is very much luck of the draw. Thankfully, the free laundry for gold members is still there and the private chauffeur service for sapphire members, but with Sag getting bigger ships - and they are already struggling with the logistics of the car transfers - one wonders how much longer before some of these other benefits are eroded!

I suppose that things have to change, it really is a sink-or-swim world nowadays. I did notice on our Discovery cruise that there seemed to be big problems with the disembarkation from the previous one - they were bringing passengers off in batches to wait for their transport in Dover terminal, and the last batch were brought off about 13:30, just before embarkation started. It did get a bit confusing at times, as there were so many people waiting for homeward transport they were sitting among the people waiting to get on. The included transport really is a major selling point for Saga (we still use our own car, but sooner or later we won't be able to)(hopefully we will make it to Sapphire before that happens) so I really hope they manage to get that sorted. Not too bothered about the other "perks" as one of the nicer things about Saga is that we are all pretty much on a level pegging as far as the cruise itself goes.

The new brochure for cruises april - December 2021 goes on general sale today. Thankfully, we were able to book yesterday. Very few cruises still offering the 35% discount. However, we were able to move one of 2020 cruises forward to 2021. This means we now have 2 cruises for 2020 hopefully and then 4 for 2021, mainly on the newer ship, Spirit of Adventure - or SofA as she is already nicknamed.

However, we were able to move one of 2020 cruises forward to 2021. This means we now have 2 cruises for 2020 hopefully and then 4 for 2021, mainly on the newer ship, Spirit of Adventure - or SofA as she is already nicknamed.
