Glynis had opted for set dining whereas we had opted for Freedom dining. We were allocated the Meridian restaurant. We used it several times and never had to be waited to be seated. We were always willing to share but did have a table for 2 at times although the tables for 2 are so close to others that it did seem you were sharing!

Menus showed a good choice but I was very impressed with the separate vegetarian menu that I saw. This was a special menu that vegetarians could order from for the next day. The general menu also offered vegetarian options. however we enjoyed the theme evenings offered in the buffet....... Italian, Thai, Seafood, Great British, Esstern Med, Western Med. Thee was always a roast on offer too. :D

We enjoyed the deck BBQs held a couple of times, grabbed a burger, hotdog and pizza a few times from the deck eateries plus liked the Grab and Go with hot breakfast buns in the morning and baguettes, fruit pots and desserts for lunch.

We didn't try the specialist places to eat apart from the Beach House. This is when part of one of the buffets is changed to waiter service, with table cloths etc. excellent value. A cover charge of £5pp plus a small surcharge for a few items. We had the most wonderful meal here with the best service possible.

So what did I have! A Waldorf salad, followed by Sizzling chicken and just enough room for fresh fruits and icecream!

Amazing looking Waldorf salad. It would have be fine for a main course by the look of it. Is that 2 scones on the plate too? :?

We loved the Beach House on the Ventura... We ate there 3 times on a 7 night cruise, the steak on the hot lava stone was amazing... And I seem to remember the desserts were wonderful too
