We often have a shelf full of Manx kippers in the freezer brought back by OH when he marshalled bike races there, nowadays by a friend.

We had an Irish bar steward at the bowling club and when he visited his family, who lived near Dublin, he always brought OH some white pudding back and it was very good.


I love kippers! It's a luxury I enjoy when on a cruise ship as I don't like the residual cooking smell when I cook them at home. ;)

I love a full (whatever nationality) breakfast but as an alternative, Eggs Benedcict come a close second.

You mean its worse than cabbage or cauliflower!!
I cooked cabbage for dinner one evening and OH came home and gave out to me for not changing Mai's nappy! :o :o :o :o :o

I saw that on board last year, they also had muffins and pastries on the same plate with bacon eggs etc and pouring the maple syrup over :shock: me sitting there with my fresh fruit and muesli breakfast :roll: :roll:

A typical Spanish breakfast is a Tostada - half a 'barra' (like a French stick), split, toasted and covered with crushed tomatoes (that's the usual, although you can add cheese and/or tuna), then drenched in olive oil. This is usually taken between 10am and 11am, and always in a cafe. If you are in the doctor's surgery, Town Hall, solicitors, or what have you, regardless of appointments, they'll suddenly up sticks and go off for their 'desayuno'. :D

On our way through the buffet on the QE each morning we had to pass where they made the pancakes and the smell was awful. I think it was the maple syrup. Revolting smell!
