Lovely statues in Aberdeen, Geoff, and the views from Victoria Peak are great. And how nice to see
the wedding celebrated in your hotel.

A resounding YES from me, for another adventure, please :D

Visiting Aberdeen brought back many memories. Our first trip together in mid 70s. We made our own way there on public transport - youthful adventurers!! We laughed at the air-conditioned coaches on the organised tours, that will be us now.

MEMORIES (No. 7) - "CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM" - FAR EAST - 2014

Day 23 – Thursday 20th February 2014 - Hong Kong and flight home

After breakfast in the hotel we finished packing our suitcases and took them via a free shuttle bus (not the hotel's one) to the Airport Express Check-In Station in the centre of the city. In order to access the flight check-in desks there we had to buy tickets (HK$55 – about £4) each for the train ride between the Station and the Airport. Once inside the Check-In area we were able to get boarding cards for our flight and divest ourselves of our suitcases. We then walked back to our hotel where we had lunch in one of their restaurants.

Whilst we were having lunch this old Chinese junk, under sail, passed us. A blast from the past!

Check out at the hotel was by 2:00 pm but we were able to use the Club Lounge until we were ready to leave for the Airport. Our transport to the Airport was due to pick us up at at 8:00 pm, but did not turn up and, despite promises when we phoned them, again failed to pick us up. So we caught the free shuttle bus to the Airport Express Check-in Station and from there caught the fast and modern Airport Express train to the Airport. Fortunately we had kept the tickets that we had been made to purchase to gain entry to the Check-In area.

The new Airport at Hong Kong is very big and very modern and we were able to buy a meal there before boarding our Singapore Airways A380 Airbus for our overnight flight home. As on the outward flight we had 2 seats together (window and aisle) on the top deck. As usual, the cabin staff made our journey as enjoyable as possible.

Day 24 – Friday 21st February 2014 - United Kingdom

Our Singapore Airlines aircraft arrived a little early at London Heathrow Airport and once we had been through Immigration and collected our suitcases, we caught the Car Park shuttle bus to the Business Car Park and were reunited with Arne's car for the drive back to Ashford. In Ashford, we transferred our luggage from Arne’s car to our car and, after saying farewell to our great travelling companions, we drove the 16 miles to our home in New Romney.

It had been a very enjoyable cruise and we had experienced a wonderful holiday. We could have been a little luckier with the weather, especially in Halong Bay and Hong Kong, but we had seen some great sights, eaten some fantastic food and met some very nice people.

Tomorrow, I will start another land based holiday ‘Memory’ of our 2006 trip to Switzerland with Chris’ younger sister and her Swiss husband.

Apart from the kerfuffle of your transport not turning up, that sounded a nce civilised way to make the
most of you last hours. Agree the cabin crew outfit is beautiful, as are all the young ladies.
And so endeth another very enjoyable journey with you and Chris, and I'm already looking forward to
the next. Thank you both! :D
