Does Thompson not cruise the Caribbean in the summer months ? Just looked on their site and the summer months are greyed out .

Had a great couple of hours at the beach (Doctor's Cave) this morning. :-)

(That's me in the sea!)

Whereas the afternoon is being spent in the nightmare that is Montego Bay's horendous airport! :-(

Thank you for sharing your cruise with us Dave. Seems to have been a lovely, relaxing break for you both.
Enjoyed reading about it as we have been to some of the ports too.

Dave's occasional updates from Marella Discovery 2

We arrived home at 9am having had a fabulous cruise and one which has persuaded us that, while we'll continue to do mostly land-based holidays, a Caribbean cruise at Christmas is compulsory. I'm hoping to book next winter's cruise tomorrow - with TUI of course! :D

We'd suffered Jamaica's Montego Bay airport three years ago, but somehow we'd forgotten how bad it was until yesterday. It was even worse than last time and so we decided to avoid choosing any cruise that involved going through it again. And although we enjoyed our time at the beach near Montego Bay, we've sadly come to the conclusion that Jamaica is our least favourite Caribbean island.

But on a positive note, we were once again very impressed with TUI's side of the flight operation. For the outbound flight, we checked in our suitcase at Gatwick and next saw it in our cabin. For the homeward flight, we left our case outside our cabin before 2am and next saw it on the carousel at Gatwick. No announcements were made on the ship regarding disembarkation; we were simply asked to board a coach by the cruise terminal at 12.45pm. The TUI 787 Dreamliners were excellent and the service and food were very good. Well done TUI!

Oh, and my thanks to those who took the trouble to post replies - it was much appreciated and let me know that my struggles with the very poor wi-fi on board were worth it. :D

Welcome home Dave. Hope Eleanor didn’t rock you about too much on the flight home. Thanks for your posts.

It was a bit bumpy in the final few hours Ruth. I wouldn't have minded, but they cancelled coffee!! :o

Just caught up with all your posts, and thoroughly enjoyed them all, along with fantastic photos. Glad you were as impressed with Cuba as I was - fabulous place and wonderful people. Hope the US don't try and spoil it by their proposed (at least back when I was there) plans to turn it into an off-shore Atlantic City! :D
