We've got some time in Barbados tomorrow before setting off at 2pm for the airport. Weather permitting, we'll spend the morning at the beach. :-)

On a slightly different note... we decided not to use the ship's lifts on this cruise at all. Our cabin is on deck 10 and the gangway has always been on deck 3, so it's been a challenge! Anyway, my watch tells me I've climbed 295 floors so far this week - climbing Snowdon in October gave 263 floors. :-)

We have a rule, no lifts if it's 2 decks otherwise we have a choice. Well done for being so single-minded but you pair are very fit!!

All's well that ends well. :-)

Bad weather overnight meant that we arrived in Barbados 90 minutes late. That meant that we were unlikely to have enough time to go to 'our' beach - Pirate's Cove, which is just over a mile's walk from the cruise terminal.

But then we had some good news. Our flight was delayed by a couple of hours. Woo hoo! :-)

So we had plenty of time to go to the beach and our week ended perfectly - with sunbathing, a cold beer, swimming and even a bit of snorkelling. :-)

One of the many things we like about Marella's 7-night Caribbean cruises is that they provide a full seven days on board. We embarked and disembarked at 4pm. :-)

We're now waiting to board our flight home...

Thanks Geoff :)

The final photo... dawn breaking as we flew over Cornwall:

The sky was beautiful at 30,000ft. Below was a thick blanket of cloud!

In the post when we got home was confirmation from TUI that we've been allocated our first choice of cabin for next year's cruise on Marella Explorer 2. :D

Lovely beach pictures. We enjoyed Tortola, when we were there. I also liked Aruba, which was one of the places we visited on our first cruise. Sounds like you had a great Christmas break, and you have another to look forward to for next year.
