Boudicca in the Arctic

At long last it's the end of July so tomorrow is August which means time to go to the Arctic for several cruising mates!

I know Jill has decided not to write a blog and I'm not allowed to under my contract, not sure if Peka had plans?

Anyway I thought I'd start a thread and maybe we can pop in here and leave you some news.

We sail from Newcastle on Sunday but we are all heading north on Saturday and meeting for a pre-cruise dinner that evening along with several other CMs who live locally.

I packed yesterday - need a dog sled to carry it all. One big suitcase, one small suitcase, rucksack, suit carrier for my formal wear and a handbag....all to be carried on 2 trains.

The small suitcase is simply the resources I need to do my job - netbook and cables, camera and spare, guidebooks, file on each port, and my little travelling office (notepads, pens, highlighter laser pointer, stapler, sellotape, memory sticks spare batteries name badge,

Boudicca in the Arctic

Postby hazel20 » 31 Jul 2015 04:59

Sorry previous post ended abruptly....phone posted before I was done!

So lots to carry. This Port Lecturer comes with baggage (literally and metaphorically!)

I will be boarding Boudicca early - about 10am so that my first Port Talk (Alesund) can be recorded and broadcast via Cabin TVs as passengers board.

My second talk will be on Trondheim and Tromso on the first day...so by lunchtime I will have covered 3 ports! After that they will be more spread out as our sea days fall in convenient times.

Here's to a great cruise!

Thanks for starting this thread Hazel. :)

I shall be adding to it during our cruise and with any luck and wi-fi permitting, I hope to post some Meet Your Mates pics from the hotel.

Have a safe journey Hazel and we look forward to meeting you at last in North Shields. :)

I would love to be on this cruise so will be sure to enjoy reading the reports as they come in on this thread.

Happy cruising to all and happy meeting to all the CMs that make it to Newcastle. I'm sure the fun will start there and will continue throughout. I get the vibes that this will be a happy cruise.

Cheers Kath

You'll need a vest just for Newcastle - it's still not very warm here!

Safe journeys.

I've packed for wet weather, cold weather and warmish weather. I have also packed the factor 30 and anti mosquito stuff (that was recommended by fellow members).
If I have forgotten anything, I'll buy it somewhere.

Bye for now.
