Onboard P&O's Oceana with JollyJill and friends!

Jill flew at 0835 yesterday morning to Venice to board Oceana for a 7 night cruise that calls to Zadar, Messina, Villefranche and Civitavecchia (there may be another port that I cannot remember). They flew from LGW, I think while Stan and May flew from Manchester.

The idea was to surprise Stan and May on board but in order to be seated together for dinner, they had to have their bookings linked and to do this Stan and May had to give their permission so Jill and Plunky and to spill the beans before departure.

First text from Jill early this morning

We left London in heavy rain. Same in Venice and same in Zadar. Moored miles out of town so on shuttle bus to see the sights

Looks like the weather in the Adriatic has not improved a whole lot from three weeks ago!

Though things seem to have improved by afternoon

Sun came out pm. Saw and heard sea organ and sun globe in town but rain so heavy, I didn't stay long. Forecast better for next 2 sea days.

I have to say with it rains in the Adriatic, do it come down!!!!

Hopefuly, they have got their quota of rain for this cruise.

I have no idea what the sea organ / sun globe is so I am off to google. No doubt Jill will write a review on her port days when she returns and we all look forward to that!

I think they have being having 2 sea days so she was most likely out of coverage.

After two days at sea, I received a ship to shore text from Jill.

By all accounts, things could be better!

Jill writes

This cruise is akin to Butlins at sea. Food in the buffet is not good. Many of the crew are surly. Prom deck under maintenance and sky deck packed like sardines with sun beds and bodies. Empty beds with towels and books on

Jill's final summation tells it all

My worst cruise to date

Just to reiterate that Jill is cruising on Oceana and not on a Costa ship! :D

Very clearly ................

She is NOT P&O!!!

Oh that's such a shame, especially as its Stan's recuperating cruise, hope it improves as the week goes on....

Thanks for updates Tom, please keep them coming if you get any more

Can't blame her or P&O for the weather!

I've been on her twice Trace and my daughter had an amazing honeymoon on her. :D She's my daughter's favourite P&O ship.

And after the latest update, it is not like things have improved.

P&O's enrichment programme has come in for some stick. According to Jill

All activities apart from bingo and a lecture on Hollywood gossip revolve around trying to sell something. Have spent the days chatting and reading. Plunky plays bridge nearly all day.

After their Adonia cruise Jill was less than impressed with P&O and gave them a wide berth for a few years. After two P&O cruises in close succession (Nov '14 on Aurora and Jan '15 on Oceana) it seemed that P&O had found their way back into Jill's good books. It seems that any good will regained is now lost, Jill reports

Suffice to say I will not be sailing with P&O again. My review will not be very complimentary

I think we can very definitely conclude that

Jill is very much NOT P&O!!!
