Thanks Marie and Sparkie. :-)

We awoke in Cozumel to find us docked alongside a very similar ship to ours. It might be Vision of the Seas. Discovery looks much nicer though!

The ship's excursion was great. We visited a Mayan site which was interesting...

...before going to a brilliant beach where the snorkeling was amazing.

(That's me going in the water. :-) )

I think the coach did a complete lap of the island in the process, and that was enjoyable too.

Great looking beach Dave. Glad you emjoyed the Nameless Mayan ruins too! :D

Have a great New Year.

new year is not something I care too much for - will there be a party atmosphere onboard tonight?

And a very happy New Year to you and your family too Tom. :-)

The Mayan ruins site is called San Gervasio (according to the tickets!).

We don't care much for ship parties. Apparently there will be a lot going on... but without us. Bah humbug.

Happy New Year from Marella Discovery 2 - from somewhere in the Caribbean (it's a sea day!)

We get just the one free breakfast delivered to the cabin, and we chose today. :-)

We've been browsing a Marella (TUI) brochure and discovered that they're taking bookings for a ship that will join the fleet later this year - Marella Explorer.

Explorer is currently Mein Schiff 1 and was previously Celebrity Galaxy. She will become Marella's largest ship (just).

It's a Christmas Caribbean cruise. Sadly there was a problem communicating with head office to check that the cabin we like is available, so I'll try to get it sorted when we get back.

We arrive back in Montego Bay tomorrow and the plan is to get some beach time before leaving for the airport around lunchtime. :-)
