What a fabulous excursion... again. (Tom, we did the Champagne Snorkel the last time we were in Dominica.

)
There were basically three parts to the day. An hour's drive to the other end of the island was fascinating and the driver was really friendly and interesting.
Then we were rowed up the Indian River through the rainforest. It poured with rain for much of the time, which seemed appropriate. We enjoyed rum punches before returning.

(Does anyone recognise this shack?)

Then we were driven to an excellent black sand beach where I had another rum punch. The water was perfect, but I didn't see any fish. We had to stop for a while on the way to the beach while a fallen tree was cleared from the road!

(Waiting for the road to be cleared!)
