P&O reveals refit plans for Arcadia and Oceana

P&O Cruises ‘Arcadia’ & ‘Oceana’ will undergo a multi-million pound refit in time for the Christmas and New Year season.

The 2,084-passenger Arcadia is already in Hamburg ready for her refit which will take two weeks to complete. The refit will include refurbishment of its cabins, suites, public areas, bars and restaurants. You can also expect new carpets and furniture, soft furnishing refreshes, fixture and fitting upgrades and elegant new colour schemes, among other highlights. For the ship’s atrium and reception P&O are promising a new ‘wow factor’

She will return to service on the 15th November with a three night cruise to Belgium from Southampton.

P&O Cruises senior vice president Paul Ludlow said “We continually invest in our ships in order to create a contemporary and comfortable environment while still keeping the unique character and key features that our guests know and love.
“Those travelling on Arcadia and Oceana can look forward to new design concepts and improvements to comfort while still enjoying the incomparable service that characterises a P&O Cruises holiday.”

Oceana will follow Arcadia for a refit at the end of November and will include refurbishing all suites and cabins, as well as introducing new flooring in its atrium, buffet restaurant, lounges, spa and gym.

Up on deck the hot-tubs will be refurbished and a canopy will be placed over the pool that will also extend to cover Oceana’s Terrace Bar.

Oceana will return on the 17 December for a 12 night cruise to the Canary Islands & Portugal.

Arcadia’s Improvements Include
Aquarius pool and bar – refreshing furnishings and creating a brighter colour scheme. Chairs, bar stools, sofas, coffee tables will all be updated.

Atrium/Reception – Upgraded to give it the true ‘wow factor’ it deserves. Carpets, chairs, banquettes and cushions will all be changed.

Oasis Spa – New carpets, loungers and armchairs creating a sense of calm and total relaxation

Intermezzo – new colour scheme plus updated carpets, blinds, chairs, sofas, bar stools, coffee tables, lampshades and more.

Suites - The new design will create a warm and inviting ambience and introduce an elegant design scheme that reflects the ship’s journey, while also improving energy efficiency. New furniture will include sofa beds, armchairs and coffee tables

Oceana’s Improvements Include
Atrium - new carpets throughout.

The Plaza Buffet – new carpets and tiling as well as new chairs and banquette seating.

The Yacht & Compass, Magnums & Winner’s Bar – new flooring/carpet and new furniture.

The Spa and Gym - new décor, wall covering, blinds and flooring.

Suites - new carpets, curtains and cushions

Youth Space – improved entertainment equipment, new soft play equipment and updated area for teenagers
