Which UK ports have you sailed from?

Postby Dave » 03 Feb 2013 11:45

Cruises depart from a surprising number of UK ports, although many of these ports are only used by smaller or niche cruise lines.

I wonder which UK port has been the starting point for most members, and whether we've sailed from them all between us. :?:

(Note: I used a list from ChoosingCruising.co.uk who offer cruises from all of these ports.)

Just logged in for a catch up and noticed this thread.

Fred Olsen fans might be interested to know that they don't intend to use portsmouth again after this year- they didn't say why.

You can count me out of this one, I have never sailed from a UK port and in all likelihood never will.

We did all of our first cruises from UK ports and developed a love of cruising which later meant we were prepared to suffer airports, flights and immigration in order to keep finding new destinations. I think our next UK departure will be in 2019 though, when we hope to do another world cruise. :D

Which UK ports have you sailed from?

My first few cruise were fly cruises. Totally fed up with airports, delays, immigration etc so now I far prefer to sail from the UK. Obviously it cuts down on itineraries available but Europe has much to offer. ;) Baltics, fjords, Iceland, round Britain, various parts of the Med, Canaries and of course there are transatlantics or round trips to the Caribbean :D

I tried that - but it didn't like it:) - asked me to fill in an option.

Then I started thinking - do trips on Calmac ferries count?

Thanks

As we were nearing the second hour of shuffling along in a ludicrous queue in the utter chaos of Sharm el-Sheikh airport recently we pined for the good old days when we'd dock in Dover and be home by 10am the same morning... ;)
