They was mainly set up for people who had cancer but where not in remission or cancer free but where still be treated as being ill even although they had been in remission or cancer free for several years with no change. I know a few people who have found them much cheaper for same or better policy basically because they specialise in serious illnesses and know the right questions to ask. Hope you get sorted heck my dad didn't even get quoted for that for canada few years ago and hes got a heart condition, high blood pressure and about a million other things wrong with him

Another vote here for AllClear. We have used them for our Med cruise and have just bought a year's policy with them covering all pre exciting conditions (and for Andy, that is a lot!) for Europe inc Spain & Greece. The cost was £799 for the two of us. Last year for a single trip to the Baltic, they were not the cheapest so went with Explorer and paid £675.

AllClear will cover you for cruises under their general travel ins policy but also have a specific 'cruise policy' which covers for missed ports, confined to cabin etc.

Thanks Donna. I’ll certainly be getting in touch with them as soon as I’ve I have had my follow-up appointment with Cardiology.

We’re with Goodtogo and we both have pre-existing conditions.
I always buy the yearly policy and go through it to make sure to pick one with good cover.
They were the best price for us.

Thank you. I will add it to the list of people to get quotes from. Just waiting for my follow up appointment with the Cardiologist then I can start ringing around to get quotes. I would prefer an annual policy as we are off again on another cruise from Dubai to Southampton in the Spring.

We use the travel insurance that comes with the Lloyds Bank Platinum current account which costs £19 per month. It also gives us breakdown cover for the car, through the AA and also mobile phone cover. As Chris and I have both got several pre-existing conditions we had to pay an additional surcharge but it was very reasonable. When it came time to renew the policy (after 12 months) I was delighted to see that the additional premium had been reduced. Plus, when we renewed again (at the end of a further 12 months), the additional premium had remained the same as for the previous year.

I haven't made any claims under this insurance, which is the proof of the pudding, but I did some research before we initially took out the policy and most reports were positive and so we were happy that it would be suitable for us.
