Oh dear Cruisedeckplans.com, that's a bit naughty! (Resolved!)

I was searching for Costa cabin information in Google and spotted "Cabin 4399" in the results. That's the very cabin we had on Deliziosa so, intrigued, I followed the link to http://www.Cruisedeckplans.com and was rather pleased to see that they'd linked to my video on YouTube. :D

But then I clicked 'CLICK for Pictures' and this is what appeared:

Image

Yes, all the photos are mine! But now there is a problem, because they could only have come from Cruising Mates yet they're credited to 'Anonymous'. Really? Me? Anonymous? :o

And there's a Cruisedeckplans.com watermark stuck in the middle of each photo.

So of course I went looking for more of my photos. It's an American website so it wasn't surprising that there's no reference to Fred Olsen or Thomson, but I did find more of my photos under Viking...

...and Celebrity:

You may have noticed in the screen shots that Cruisedeckplans.com pays their members 50c per photo, so I reckon I'm owed several dollars for those I've found so far. ;)

I'll contact http://www.Cruisedeckplans.com at some point but I thought that other members might like to look for their photos first. It seems our Cabin Reviews area has become a cheap resource for this website!

They are indeed our photographs.

Isn't there a law against using other peoples photos for their own gain? I don't want the money but I would like the credit to go to this forum. :(

That's my thinking too Jill. They provide links to other relevant websites and I think the least they can do is link to this one. The more evidence I have that they've 'borrowed' a great many of our photos, the more willing I hope they'll be to agree terms!

Good luck with that then Dave. Let me know if you need me to contact them too, although I do have another issue that I am dealing with at the moment. ;)

I think we should all check this site out. My first look showed this:

Our membership site is loaded with features that you will love. It is loaded with pictures that you can click to zoom in on. All our stateroom pictures are indexed by ship, cabin category and cabin number. With one click you can jump to sister ships (ships that have the same layout). With one click you jump to a different category. With one click you filter the pictures down to a specific cabin. If you love cruising, then you will love our membership site. Click here to join!
Save yourself a lot of time surfing the net. We have collected a lot of useful information and have tons of pictures. Our stateroom pictures are in a very organized albumand they should help you find the perfect stateroom for your cruise. This is our album page for our public site. We have two different photo album formats on our membership site. Submit your pictures to us and if you are a active member we will pay you 50 cents for each stateroom one we use.
