Gill's Dec. 2018 Golden Triangle Tour and India/Arabian Gulf Cruise Ramblings

Reminds me a bit of a hotel in Delhi where I chose a curry off the menu and was cautioned by the waiter, the section waiter and finally the maitre' d that it was extremely hot, not normally to the taste of "western gentlemen". It then became a macho matter and I pressed ahead. With the following day sitting by the pool on barbed wire as close as possible to the loo I learned to listen to those who know.
India is certainly an experience.
I also remember, when querying, the embarkation bureaucracy with an official, being told that this was learned from the British during the Rajh, and perfected when we left.

Really enjoyed reading this especially your land tour. We have booked to go to India next Oct. We planned to go last Oct but we're told that the Taj was undergoing a face lift and was covered in scaffolding so we postponed for a year.
Then after we had booked we had an email to say that the work was still on going to Oct 2019.

Did you see any sign of work on it? They gave assured us that only one side at a time is scaffolded- and I'm assuming that the front would have been done first (hoping might be a better word!)

What do you think? Had the front been completed?

Hi Hazel,
There wasn't any scaffolding at all on the front and two sides, but I couldn't say
if there was any at the back as I didn't go round there. Go for it! Cheers, Gill :D

Yes, definitely. I had heard that it had a greenish tinge before, but it was white.
Been trying to add a pic. on here, but in vain - I'm useless at this, but, if you want,
you can PM your email address and I know how to forward photos there. :D

That's ok Gill...so long as it looked done, I'm happy!
I'm away on my travels so can't access emails much. Thanks for the offer though.
